Things to look for before getting hair extensions:
1. Proper Licensing! The following are the MINIMUM STATE REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY EXTENSIONS:
A. MUST be a Licensed Hair Dresser (Cosmetologist or Barber) in order to do hair extensions.
B. Must work in a licensed salon.
C. If the Hair Dresser has a mobile business, he or she must have a specific license to operate a mobile business AND must also be working and setting appointments through a licensed salon.
Please know that is unlawful to do hair extensions without proper licensing! Check with the AZ State Board of Cosmetology or the AZ State Board of Barbers to ensure that the Hair Dresser is properly licensed AND the salon is properly licensed as well.
2. Credentials! Ask a potential hair extension specialist where their area of expertise lies. Many hair sytlists do cutting and coloring as their main clientale and just take a quick training course and begin doing hair extensions. You want to have your extensions done by a true specialist! Rhonda VanLanding has certifications in many different hair extension methods and systems. Her primary business is centered around hair extension application, not cutting and coloring!
3. Experience! When shopping around, be sure to ask how many years of experience a potential hair extension specialist has. Although they may have been trained in technique, the application of extensions is perfected over time! Rhonda VanLanding has over 19 years experience in the field of hair extensions and is highly skilled in all types of methods and systems!
4. Testimonials and recommendations from satisfied customers! Be sure to ask for referrals, testimonials and recommendations from a potential hair extension specialist. Confirming that a specialist has plenty of satisfied customers is your best bet of making sure that you will be satisfied as well. Studio 36 has dozens of testimonials from very happy clients and we are always glad to give you referrals so you may speak to our customers directly.
